I’ve commented on social media before about my love of Google’s special graphics. You know, the one’s that celebrate things both great (Dr. Martin Luther King Day) and obscure (216th Anniversary of the First Parachute Jump.) They even have a personal message for you on your birthday. (What, you didn’t notice this?) As a creative professional, it makes sense that I would be drawn to them, but I have to believe everyone finds them as delightful as I do.So. Do you?
To me, Google proves how powerfully a good visual can work. Their images evoke strong feelings: nostalgia, pride and wonder, just to name a few. And don’t forget the almighty humor. Humor is a crucial element in your arsenal when trying to make an impact.
Whether you’re developing an infographic to explain a concept or posting a photo on Facebook, understand the importance of what your audience will see. A picture may actually speak more than 1000 words.
